Credentials? I have a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Marketing and manage digital marketing in corporate. I’m not a hair scientist, but I get my hair information from them. My sources primarily come from hair science textbooks and lectures from hair researchers. I cite studies from scientific journals, but context from books, lectures, and experts is important to avoid misinterpreting them. My master’s program also focused on Consumer Research and Statistics, and I have a Hair Practitioner Certification from the International Association of Trichologists.

I carried every product in the Target Function of Beauty line for 3 miles… long story. I filmed the long story, but it was too long to include. Hopefully this video does well enough to make the struggle worth it.

  1. Did you spot Furpunzel the puzzle piece muncher? 😅

  2. Awww man i literally JUST purchased function of beauty shampoo and conditioner lol. I wish i would've seen this before clicking "order" lol. At least i just got the 8oz set and i also got 20% off by using a coupon code. sigh… hopefully it works out anyways :-/

  3. the puzzle is a really good life metaphor

  4. It's painful how underrated you are 😭

Gob bless you for your content 💖👌

  5. Do you have shampoo and conditioner recommandations

  6. What are your sources for the studies? Please. I’m asking about all studies in general! I love your page! From London😘

  7. I love your video already~~❤
It opened my eyes to not fall for any marketing tricks!!
    Thank youuuu!

  8. Having worked in science I mush commend you on giving one of the most accessible explanations of stats and scientific research I've seen. Bravo! And well done for calling out those bogus papers and reading them in full. The number of times an abstract is not representative of the paper just blows my mind

  9. You are legit relieving so much of my anxiety right now. This kind of stuff has been giving me a lot of stress because I just don't know how the psychology works and scams are getting more clever every day.

  10. I just found your channel and I’m so relieved omg thank you for all your hard work

  11. I tried function of beauty… and I didn’t enjoy it as much as others seem to.

It is pretty expensive too. For what you really get. Cruelty free (amazing!!) but that’s about it for me…

And I have a question about coconut… straight hair? Isn’t coconut drying?
I have it in my head, I don’t remember where from, but hair like mine…. sensitive, fine, straight Scandinavian hair… can’t handle coconut. It will be dried out or too oiled and weighted down.

  12. I wish this had come sooner, but I tried fob a month ago and it made my hair fall out significantly faster than when I was using Maui. I was originally using alba but alba became so hard to get here that I switched the the closest thing I could get that did have the harmful chemicals which was maui. However I was apprehensive since I hadn't done much reading about the ingredients. But I had heard so much about how awesome fob was that when my maui was running low, I ordered fob. I was excited and I really wanted it to work. Nothing in my life had changed. No stress, decent diet that hadn't changed, plenty of sleep. When I shower I wring my hair out by pulling my hair back into a pony tail with my fingers and gently pull down the length, then grab the loose hairs from the bottom and stick it to the wall. Sounds gross but it keeps my drain from clogging and I usually ball it up and throw it away before my next shower. However, after trying fob I noticed there was 2 to 3 times as much hair as normal. Thought it was a fluke. But all of a sudden I started shedding like a husky in summer. It was all over my desk at work. Ten strands from just moving my hair off my shoulders. I've never lost so much. I continued using the shampoo for a week thinking maybe I just needed to get used to it. But I felt a slight itch and an almost imperceptible warm discomfort that I hadn't notice in the first half of the week. Nope. Never again. I'll stick with my semi-naturals.

  13. you are the only one i trust with my hair girl!

  14. awesome research and bad ass editing! i had so much fun watching this video! so imformative 😄😄

  15. Can you please do an Olaplex video like this? I think a lot of us would really appreciate it because they are basically based on science. Can it really repair our hair in 10 minutes?

  16. I need more wavy red heads reviewing shampoos. I need an affordable shampoo and conditioner to keep my natural red hair from totally fading

  17. These days really so Questionable how many cosmetic companies are there and every one have a brand every body claim something.. I really feel so hard to believe ! finally Ioove your content the editing so nice all support 🙏🏻🌹

  18. you made it to 100k!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. Ok. This is a great video. Thank you!

  20. Too expensive. My target dont have it. People would steal the little boxes anyway.

  21. Currently doing a PhD in chemistry. My suggestion is that if you have access to peer reviewed articles, read the sections in this order: abstract, intro, conclusion, experiment and results. And consider any conflicts of interests.

  22. Sarah's energy level and excitement gives ME serotonin not gonna lie 🤭❤️
